Ballynanty show Nenagh no mercy

Nenagh AFC slipped to third from bottom of the Limerick District League premier division ón Sunday following a 5-0 defeat at home to title chasing Ballynanty Rovers.

Kevin Nolan was the scorer in chief for Balla claiming a hat-trick with Eddie Byrnes notching two as Nenagh next head to bottom of the table Carew Park where three points are a must with the games beginning to run out.

 

Lawson Cup

Newport Town bounced back from the disappointing defeat in the FAI Junior Cup last week, to take the scalp of Premier League side, Kilmallock, with an emphatic home 6-1 win the round 2 of the Lawson Cup.

A hat-trick from Sean Ryan and goals from Paul Ryan, Davy Ryan and one from Christy O’Connor see Newport at home to Hyde Rangers in the next round.
