Magical and Ryan Moore race clear of stable companion Flag Of Honour to win the Group 3 Alleged Stakes at Naas on Saturday

'Magical' return for Magical at Naas

Magical, from the Aidan O'Brien yard, who gave John Gosden's multiple Grade1 winner Enable a real fright in the Breeders Cup Turf last season, made a winning return to action with an impressive victory in the mile and two Group3 Alleged Stakes at Naas on Saturday.

In what looked an above average contest for this grade, Magical was a strongly supported even money favourite and in truth she never gave her supporters a moments worry in the hands of Ryan Moore. Settled behind the leaders, the daughter of Galileo was pulling double entering the straight. She led on the bridle with a furlong or so to race and Moore only had to shake her up to defeat her stable companion Flag Of Honour by four and a half lengths.

Make no mistake but this was a quality performance by a top class filly. She could now head to France for the Prix Ganny but her mid term objective will be the Coronation Cup on Derby weekend at Epsom.
