Toome power past Burgess for U14 football glory

Toomevara 4-7

Burgess 0-4

Report: Thomas Conway in Shallee

Led by midfielder Darragh McCarthy, they exploited the wide open spaces of the Shallee pitch, playing a ferocious running game which Burgess unable to handle, despite fighting until the final whistle.

From a Burgess perspective, the end result wasn’t a true reflection on an extremely youthful side, which showed plenty of talent and ability throughout. However, strategic errors proved costly, allowing Toome to pour bodies behind the ball, making it almost impossible for Burgess to carve out a proper scoring chance.
