Go-ahead for Nenagh houses

Conditional planning permission has been granted for 22 houses in Nenagh, despite objections from local residents.

Singland Homes Ltd has received permission for the construction of 22 no houses within four vacant plots at the Springfort Meadows estate on the Limerick Road. These are to consist of a range of two-bedroom single-storey, four-bedroom two-storey semi-detached, and four-bedroom detached houses.

Tipperary Co Council received several submissions on the plan, in which concerns were raised in relation to traffic, parking, noise, housing density, lack of services, and concern that the design of the new houses would not be in keeping with existing properties. Residents also submitted that a green or play area should be facilitated for children.

However, the council last week granted permission for the development subject to 15 conditions. Among them is a condition that construction proceed in accordance with an identified phasing schedule so that the access road, footpath, lighting, open space, landscaping and infrastructural services be fully completed before properties are occupied.
