Event organiser Trish O'Shea with Cillian Dunne after last year's 'Three Angels' road race in Ballycommon

'Three Angels' road race this Sunday

The annual 'Three Angels' 5k road race in aid of A Little Lifetime Foundation returns to Ballycommon this Sunday, October 21st, starting at 3pm.

Trophies will be presented to the first male and females finishers, and there will also be trophies for the first female and males under the age of 14.
The annual event is organised by Trish and Fergal O'Shea in memory of their triplets Angel, Jessie and Nikki, who died as babies in 2003. The 'Three Angels' road race serves as a fundraiser for A Little Lifetime Foundation (formerly the Irish Stillbirth and Neonatal Society – ISANDS), which provides information, services and support to help parents and families cope with the death of babies.

Last year's event raised €5,050 and the year before €3,500 was raised for A Little Lifetime. Organiser Trish O'Shea said this success only came because of all the great friends, families and neigbours that helped out.

“The first year we ran it, we raised €4,500 for the neonatal unit in Limerick where our triplets Angel, Jessie and Nikki were born 15 years ago,” Trish said.

“There's lots of days, weeks and years gone by since and while I might not see them everyday, I know they are keeping an eye on me. I know this because of ye.

“The people who pull out all the stops to bake buns, serve teas, take registration, sell tickets, donate spot prizes and even made some, take pics, man the roads so everyone is safe... But most importantly remember our babies with your own, the ones ye have and the ones ye never got to have or to hold, or the ones ye only had for minutes, days, weeks and some even years... This is for ye too.”
