Tickets for Liam Miller tribute match on sale Monday

The full squads have been announced for the Liam Miller tribute match, which is taking place at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Tuesday, September 25th. The once-off game between legends from Manchester United and a combined Republic of Ireland-Glasgow Celtic selection will take to the field in support of the late Liam Miller, who passed away earlier this year at 36, having played for both teams during his illustrious playing career.

The Man Utd squad boasts some of the greatest players ever to wear the famous red shirt. The sight of Roy Keane again captaining a Utd side, which will include stars such as Giggs, Scholes, Ferdinand, Irwin and Neville, is truly going to be a historic moment.

Martin O Neill’s Ireland-Celtic squad will also be full of class and quality. Led by Ireland’s record goal scorer, Robbie Keane, O’Neill will also be able to call on a string of Irish and Celtic heroes including, former Premier League winner Damien Duff, defensive rock Richard Dunne and Parkhead favourites Neil Lennon, Paul Lambert and big John Hartson.

The benefit match is the brainchild of number of key figures from the world of business and sport, including chairman of the organising committee,  Michael O’Flynn, who is a neighbour of the Miller family, Sir Alex Ferguson, Roy Keane, Martin O’Neill, John O’Shea, Graham Barrett, Ciaran Medlar, Ger Gilroy, Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell, Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward, Denis O’Brien and Dermot Desmond amongst many others.

Because of the increased capacity of Páirc Ui Chaoimh stadium, additional match tickets will be available from tickets.ie on Monday, August 13th.
