Council housing construction plans

Progress is being made with the provision of new council houses in Nenagh, Roscrea, Portroe, Borrisokane, Newport and Cloughjordan.

Tipperary Co Council is proposing to build 16 new houses at Cormack Drive, Nenagh. This project is being assessed prior to statutory approval submission, as is the council's plan to build 10 houses at Glencarrick, Roscrea.

In the case of Portroe, the council is proposing to construct 16 new homes on a site off the village's main street. A 'Part 8' public consultation process is being prepared in respect of this development.

The council's plan to build 17 houses at Shesheraghmore, Borrisokane, is currently on public display. A Part 8 is also being prepared in respect of 10 new houses planned for Mulcair View in Newport.

Part 8 has been approved and tender documents are now being prepared for two houses that the council intends to build just off the main street in Cloughjordan.

The council has a total of 3,301 approved housing applicants. Of these, 738 are in the Nenagh Municipal District and 826 are in the Templemore/Thurles district, which includes Roscrea.
