Tipperary Water, the leading Irish water brand, is today delighted to announce that it will sponsor, for a three year term, Tipperary GAA’s adult county championships.

This partnership covers all adult Tipperary county championships, which will now be known, for example, as the Tipperary Water Senior Hurling County Championship and Tipperary Water Senior Football County Championship.  The sponsorship covers all adult grades, from minor up to senior, across both codes.

The three-year deal will also see Tipperary Water become the official water supplier to Tipperary GAA, including its minor and senior hurling and senior football teams as they pursue All-Ireland glory over the coming weeks.

Tipperary Water is owned by C&C Gleeson, Ireland’s leading supplier, distributor and wholesaler of beverage products and part of C&C Group plc.

The sponsorship agreement was launched today at C&C's Annerville manufacturing facility in Clonmel by two icons of Tipperary GAA, hurling and football All Stars Eoin Kelly and Declan Browne – both winners of Tipperary senior hurling and football championships, respectively, with their clubs.  Also present were Tipperary GAA Chairman Michael Bourke, Secretary Tim Floyd, Treasurer Michael Power, as well as Keith O’Haire, Head of Non-Alcoholic Beverages C&C Gleeson.

Keith O’Haire, Head of Non-Alcoholic Beverages C&C Gleeson, commented:We’re delighted to associate the Tipperary Water brand with Tipperary GAA. The county’s club championships are amongst the most followed and competitive in Ireland and are the breeding ground for Tipperary teams at intercounty level. Some of the greatest names in the wider GAA family, including today’s special guests, have competed in these great championships.

We come on board at an incredibly exciting time for Tipperary GAA as they pursue senior All-Ireland glory in minor and senior hurling and senior football. We’re delighted also to be Tipperary GAA’s official water supplier and wish all three teams continued success, starting with the senior footballers in Sunday’s All-Ireland semi-final clash with Mayo.”

He added: “C&C Gleeson has a proud tradition of sponsoring sporting events such as the Dublin Marathon, Cork women’s mini marathon and Ireland’s most popular obstacle course race, Hell and Back. Given our shared heritage, C&C Gleeson is honoured to partner with Tipperary GAA and show our commitment to Gaelic games at grassroots level.”

Michael Bourke, Tipperary County Board Chairman said:The Tipperary County Board is delighted to have Tipperary Water on board as sponsor of our adult club championships. It’s a great fit for us, given that Tipperary Water is, of course, a natural local product.  Today’s announcement is also very timely as it comes in a year when such sponsorships are more important than ever, due to the cost of maintaining our intercounty teams as well as funding the running of our club championships.

We’re also delighted to have Tipperary Water continue their commitment as official water supplier to our intercounty teams. This has been an ongoing partnership for a number of years and something we’re very grateful for. The support of Tipperary Water lightens the financial load and provides our teams with a quality product for refreshment and rehydration. Overall, this sponsorship agreement shows a real commitment from C&C Gleeson to Tipperary GAA .”
