House breakins in terryglass cloughjordan and roscrea

Two houses in Terryglass and other homes in Cloughjordan and Roscrea were broken into in recent days.

Two neighbouring houses in Newlawn, Terryglass were targeted on Friday evening last. The burglars made off with approximately €50 in total; a garda spokesman said the damage caused to the two properties by the burglar/s exceeded the cash taken.

On the same day a break-in occurred at a house in Modreeny sometime between 4pm and 6pm. Entry was gained through a bedroom window but nothing was taken. It is suspected that the return of the owner may have thwarted a theft.

Gardaí are also investigating a burglary from a house at Rosemount, Roscrea, which occurred on Sunday night, in which tools and a compressor with a total estimate value of €1,000 were taken.

A sharp rise in the incidents of those arrested for drink driving offences in the Nenagh district occurred at the weekend, with up to six motorists facing a court appearance. Three people were arrested for drug possession in recent days.
