Host a Home Energy Information Night

Community groups and local organisations across County Tipperary are being invited to host free Home Energy Information Nights through the SEAI Sustainable Energy Communities Programme.

With energy costs continuing to be a concern for many households, people are increasingly looking for practical ways to reduce their bills and make their homes warmer and more energy efficient. However, knowing where to begin is not always easy. From insulation and SEAI grants to solar panels, heat pumps, smart meters and electricity plans, there can be a lot of information to understand.

The Home Energy Information Nights will bring practical, easy-to-understand information directly into local communities. They will also give people an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the options available for their own homes.

Topics can include:

Reducing household energy use and costs

Understanding electricity bills and plans

Insulation and home energy efficiency

SEAI home energy grants and supports

Solar PV and heat pumps

Smart meters and electricity tariffs

BER ratings and planning home improvements

The emphasis will be on practical information, helping people understand the options available and where to access reliable advice and support.

Each information night can be tailored to the interests and needs of the participating community. Sessions can also provide information about the SEAI Sustainable Energy Communities Programme and the opportunities available to communities through it.

Community groups, residents’ associations, sports clubs, community centres and halls, senior citizens’ and active retirement groups, voluntary organisations and other local organisations are encouraged to get involved.
