Knockout stages set in Camogie Championships

With the group stages now complete, the knockout stages of the County Camogie Championship have been reached.

Senior

In the senior championship following the final round of games last weekend which saw first defeats for Thurles Sarsfields and Clonoulty/Rossmore to Cashel King Cormacs and Drom & Inch respectively but didn’t prevent them from winning their groups and progressing directly to the semi-finals.

The quarter finals will see senior newcomers Moycarkey/Borris up against a seasoned Drom & Inch while there is an all West Tipperary affair between Eire Og Annacarty/Donohill and Cashel King Cormacs.

In the senior relegation semi-finals, Moneygall will take on Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams while Silvermines face Burgess/Duharra.

Intermediate

In the Intermediate Championship, the top four in each group progress to the quarter finals where top seeds Shannon Rovers and Boherlahan-Dualla gave been drawn against Nenagh Eire Og and Toomevara respectively while Cahir faced Holycross/Ballycahill and Borris-Ileigh face Brian Borus.

Junior

The knockout stages of the Junior ‘A’ Championship began last Saturday with the two quarter finals with St Rita’s Fethard overcoming Templemore 2-12 to 0-15, after extra time, while Kiladangan were 3-13 to 0-9 winners over neighbours Kilruane MacDonaghs.

The semi-final draw has thrown up Moyle Rovers v Kiladangan and Gortnahoe/Glengoole v St Rita’s Fethard.

In the Junior ‘B’ Championship, Ballybacon/Grange and Carrick Swan will meet in the sole preliminary quarter final with the winners going onto face Drom & Inch in a quarter final with the remaining quarter finals being Clonoulty/Rossmore v Slieve Felim Rapparees, Ballina v St Patrick’s and Roscrea v Portroe.
