Annual ‘Lua’ local artists exhibition

The fifth annual Lua Local Artists Exhibition returns to the beautiful surroundings of St Flannan’s Cathedral, Killaloe, this September, bringing together local artists and creatives for a celebration of art, community and place.

This year’s exhibition explores the theme ‘Water is Life’, inviting artists to reflect on the many meanings, memories and experiences associated with water, from the rivers and lakes that shape our landscape to its importance in sustaining life and connecting communities.

Artists working across all mediums and disciplines have been invited to participate, ensuring a diverse and exciting exhibition featuring a wide range of artistic responses to the theme. The exhibition will be officially opened by Dean Richard March at 6pm on Friday, September 11, at St Flannan’s Cathedral. All are welcome to attend the opening and meet the participating artists while enjoying an evening celebrating the wealth of creative talent in the local community.

The exhibition will continue throughout the weekend:

Friday – September 11: 6- 8pm

Saturday – September 12: 10am - 6pm

Sunday – September 13: 12.30pm - 6pm

Now in its fifth year, Lua continues to provide an important platform for local artists to showcase their work, share ideas and connect with audiences in one of Killaloe’s most historic and atmospheric spaces.

This year’s ‘Water is Life’ theme promises to offer visitors an inspiring and varied collection of work, reflecting the significance of water in our environment, culture, landscape and everyday lives.
