Ormond confirm coaching group ahead of new campaign

Nenagh Ormond have confirmed their senior coaching group ahead of the start of the new campaign which is now just over a week away.

John Long remains as Director of Rugby with Derek Corcoran going into his fourth year as head coach but has stepped back from playing at senior level. John O’Dowd from Roscrea has come on board as assistant coach.

Dan Fogarty remains as backs coach but there is a change as forwards coach with James Hickey moving on to link up with old club Shannon, succeeded by Rob Buckley who moves from inside to outside the white lines, having coached the clubs under 21’s last season while Kian Donnelly is the strength & conditioning coach.

Nenagh Ormond’s first competitive game of the new season is on Thursday, 27th August when they make the short trip to Rosbrien to take on Old Crescent in the first round of the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Challenge Cup, a repeat of the final from March 2025 when the Tipperary side won the title for the first time in their history. Should Nenagh progress, they would host Highfield in the second round, whom they face in the opening round of All-Ireland League Division 1B on September 26th.
