Munster derby for Ormond in AIL opener

The fixtures for the 2026/27 Energia All-Ireland League season have been announced with the action kicking off on Saturday, September 26th.

Nenagh Ormond, relegated from the top-flight last season, begin with a trip to Cork to take on Highfield in a clash of the last two Munster Senior Challenge Cup winners.

Nenagh’s first home game will be against Naas before welcoming Instonians to New Ormond Park a week later.

Ormond’s marquee fixtures this season will against Garryowen which will be the matches either side of Christmas with the first game in Lisatunny on December 9th which will draw the first half of the season to a close.

Nenagh Ormond’s competitive season begins on Thursday, 27th August when they travel to Rosbrien to take on Old Crescent in the first round of the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Challenge Cup, a repeat of the historic 2025 final, and should Nenagh progress they could take on Highfield before their league opener, provided the Cork side get the better of Bruff in their first round game.
