Exhibition in Thomas MacDonagh Museum

The Thomas MacDonagh Museum is delighted to host ‘Aquaessence’, an exhibition by artist Edwina Knight, for the month of August.

Edwina says: “Water is the essence of all life. It is my essence. My safe place. My healing place. I paint using oils the rhythms of this body of water that I swim in. Lough Derg holds me, it engulfs me and helps me to ground myself in my busy life. I paint to capture moments of time. A sun ray breaking through and touching skin. My hair floating and dancing. A bubble on its way to freedom. And the wonderful tangle of abstracted images that I create while taking up my space in this body of water.”

Edwina’s exhibition will be launched in the museum on Thursday week, August 6, at 6.30pm, and she will host a ‘Meet the Artist’ event on Friday, August 14, from 11am to 1pm. All are welcome, and admission is free.

The exhibition may be viewed during museum opening hours, 10am – 4pm, Tuesday to Friday, or outside these hours by contacting the museum in advance. info@macdonaghmuseum.ie, 0505 42785.
