All roads lead to the show!
All roads lead to the Showgrounds in Nenagh this bank holiday Monday for one of the most anticipated events of the year, the North Tipperary Agricultural Show!
Having celebrated its 150th anniversary last year, the Show shows no signs of abating and continues to expand its offering of entertainment for everyone to enjoy. From horse competitions to cattle showing, sheep and goats, poultry, and the dog show, live music all day, bouncy castles, pet farm, sheep shearing, and so much more - including free face painting for kids - this really is the ultimate family day out!
There will be over 30 trade stands on the day. Regular favourites like the horticulture, home industry and best-dressed competitions will be added to with live music entertainment. This includes a performance by country music star Tex Deegan of Limerick, while Knockshegowna chanteuse Aishling Rafferty makes another welcome return to this year’s show.
CAR CLUB CELEBRATION
Also on the road back to the show by popular demand is the Nenagh Classic Car Club, which will be hosting its annual display with all vintage and classic vehicles welcome. This year the club will be celebrating 60 years of the Toyota Corolla in Ireland.
It all gets underway at 10am, and this year there will be an official opening performed by Siobhán MacGowan.
Renowned throughout the land as one of the best events of its kind, the North Tipperary Agricultural Show really has come a long way from that first iteration organised by the North Tipperary Farming Society in the grounds of Nenagh Barracks in May 1875. The show has been the scene of many a memorable event for this locality over the years and, while there have been years when the show was cancelled due to bad weather, the organisers will be hoping that the smiles down on Nenagh again on Monday, as it did for last year’s 150-year celebration event. Welcoming all to the Showgrounds again this bank holiday Monday, they would like to thank everyone involved in supporting the show, in particular main sponsor ArraTipp.
Admission charges for the 2026 North Tipp Show are €15 for adults, €10 for OAPs and students, and €5 for under 16s, while there is free entry for children under 12 years when accompanied by an adult. Note that the closing date for entries was last Monday and no late entries will be taken.
The Showgrounds site is located at E45 TN92. Visit the website www.northtippshow.com for more information.
