Green light for golf club
An Coimisiún Pleanála has upheld a local planning authority decision in favour of retaining a ball dispenser and ball washing unit at Nenagh Golf Club.
Nearby resident David Reddan had appealed Tipperary Co Council’s decision to grant retention permission to John Sheridan, Captain of Nenagh Golf Club, for the development as constructed and permission to complete same.
Following its assessment of the case, the commission directed the granting of planning subject to conditions. It regarded “the modest nature, scale and layout of the development”, the site location with its established golf course use, as well as the distance to the closest dwellings.
“It is considered that the development for which retention permission and permission for completion is sought… would not negatively impact upon the residential or visual amenity of the area and would constitute an appropriate form of ancillary development within the established golf course development overall,” the commission ruled.
