Prestigious award for ArraTipp

Recognition of merger of co-ops

The successful merger of two co-ops to create ArraTipp - the fifth-largest milk processor in the country - has been recognised at the prestigious Chambers Ireland Awards, held over the weekend.

The ArraTipp merger, which was completed last year, received the bronze award at the event held in Dublin on Friday night.

The country's leading companies compete in this prestigious awards programme each year, with the Deal of the Year Award honouring leading Irish enterprises that have demonstrated outstanding strategic growth, financial performance and transactional success.

This was the first time ArraTipp, or its predecessor entities - Arrabawn and Tipperary Co-op - has featured on the Chambers Ireland Awards winners' list, reaffirming the success of the merger.

Commenting on the award, ArraTipp CEO Eamon O'Sullivan said it is recognition of the immense commitment of everyone involved in bringing the new organisation together.

“Featuring as one of the top three companies in Ireland in a category that celebrates a major business transaction, merger, acquisition or investment is no small achievement, considering the level of activity across all industry sectors. The award reaffirms the excellence of our integration process, which did not come without challenges but has put the company on a positive footing for the future.”

The award also follows the co-op's first financial results, which confirmed a strong first year, with operating profit increasing to €14.1 million from a combined €9.5 million pre-merger, while paying a milk price in the top third of milk prices paid nationally and reducing debt by €24.6m..

The co-op also rebranded as ArraTipp in the fourth quarter of 2025. ArraTipp is, Mr O'Sullivan added, built on the new brand proposition that ‘Together We Grow’.

“With our consolidation goals realised and a new management structure in place, the co-op has now entered a growth phase, with particular emphasis on value-added dairy products, whey processing and renewable energy efficiency. The integration and growth opportunities are attributable to the massive commitment of everyone involved, from our board, representative committee, executive team, staff and suppliers. The recognition at the Chambers Ireland Awards is a reflection of their collective efforts.”
