‘Holding Space in Light’ in Nenagh
'Holding Space in Light' is a candlelight evening of music, song and dance that Libby Grey of Nenagh put together, focusing on mental health and suicide. It will take place at Nenagh Arts Centre on Friday, May 22, with all proceeds going to Midlands Living Links and Shine.
“With mental health or when you lose someone through suicide, there can be so many feelings and frustrations from lack of answers and understanding that sometimes we don’t give time to just stop and give space to that person and your loss and sit in that space for a while,” Libby said.
“For me personally, I lost a very special cousin years ago through suicide and this is my opportunity to pay respect and honour her. That is where the name 'Holding Space in Light' came from - all pieces on the night will reflect and compliment the subject while also giving you an evening of what promises to be heartfelt and beautiful music and dance and entertainment.
“I am very lucky to have joining me on the night musicians John O'Brien, Laura Carey and Máire Hanley; singers Sheelagh Chadwick, Robbie Glennon, Máire Long and myself Libby Grey, and Stephanie Browne bringing some very special contemporary dance.”
The evening will start with a cheese and wine reception at 7.15pm and the show to start from 8pm. There is also a raffle on the night with some very generous prizes donated by local businesses. Tickets can be bought in Nenagh Arts Centre or online.
