Nenagh link with revamped Teagasc office

The newly refurbished Teagasc advisory office in Clonmel was officially opened by the Teagasc Chairman, Liam Herlihy. The ribbon was cut on the half million-euro investment, following a meeting of the Teagasc Authority, last week.

The Clonmel advisory office, which serves 1,500 farmer clients, is one of three advisory offices in the Tipperary advisory region, with the others being Thurles and Nenagh.

This project was initially proposed in 2022, with the client brief to bring the building compliant with building regulation standards, fire and disability requirements.

The design was progressed by AJ Murphy Architects (Terryglass, Nenagh) through collaboration with local management team lead by Donal Mullane supported by Teagasc Building Officer, David Wilson.

The final design involved a significant remodelling of the building and an extension to add additional office and relocating the reception to the south side of the building.

This created a more functional entrance to the building offering a more attractive commercial image presented at the public interface.

Works commenced in June 2025. The contractor Tricore Construction secured the contract and progressed a six-month works programme. Delivery of the project was both on time and on budget.

Present at the opening ceremony were Professor Frank O'Mara - Teagasc Director, Liam Herlihy - Teagasc Chairman, Stan Lalor - Teagasc Director of Knowledge Transfer, Tom Curran - Teagasc Head of Advisory Services, Donal Mullane - Teagasc Tipperary Regional Advisory Manager, David Wilson - Teagasc Buildings Officer, Anthony Murphy - AJ Murphy Architects, John Noonan - Pro Group Construction Manager, Member of the Teagasc Authority & Teagasc Clonmel employees and retired employees.
