New chapter for Nenagh financial firm
Nenagh's leading financial advice service recently began a new chapter with the arrival of Nenagh resident and Limerick native James Cullinane at the helm.
James’ Treaty Wealth Management has merged with All Star Financial Solutions on Emmet Place. The move represents a new beginning for James, who lives locally at Hogan’s Pass with his wife Mary – known to many as a radiographer at Nenagh Hospital – daughter of Dinny and Ella Slattery of Hogan’s Pass and sister of Michael Slattery of Slattery Sullivan Insurances, now Campion, Nenagh.
James is also known for his involvement with Nenagh Ormond Rugby Football Club, with whom he has coached at underage level. His sons Michael, Jim and Conor are heavily involved in sport between rugby with Ormond, hurling with Kiladangan, soccer with Knigh FC, tennis at Nenagh Lawn Tennis Club and athletics with Nenagh Olympic.
Their father played rugby at senior level right up to the age of 38. James was a tighthead prop with Old Crescent RFC, staying loyal to his local club throughout his career of more than 300 senior games in League and Cup, and having the honour of captaining the club on two occasions. He also had the honour of representing Munster at senior level in 2002 and 2003.
WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE
James brings to All-Star Financial a distinguished career spanning more than 20 years. His qualifications include a Business Degree at University of Limerick, which he followed up with a Post-grad in Financial Planning and the world-recognised Masters level Certified Financial Planner qualification through UCD. He spent some time living in South Africa, having toured there with the Irish Students team, where he played rugby and gained invaluable experience working as an estate agent in Cape Town and playing first team rugby with Hamiltons in the Western province Super League.
James returned home in 2001 to work as a financial advisor with Irish Life. He then Joined Sullivan Life & Pensions in Limerick in 2006 and was a director of that firm for 13 years before moving on to a new role as a partner with OBI Wealth Management in 2019.
James branched out on his own two years ago, using the insight he has gained to guide clients along their financial journey with Treaty Wealth Management. The All Star merger last February was a natural progression, with Treaty taking on the local company directed by Eamonn Kelly, well-known for his success as a GAA manager and coach, and before him Keith Hayes, who was a great stalwart of Nenagh Ormond RFC before his untimely passing.
