LIMERICK v TIPPERARY
TUS Gaelic Grounds, Limerick
Thursday, 30th April
Throw-in @ 7.00pm
Referee: Patrick O’Mahoney (Cork)
A place in the Munster Minor Hurling final is potentially at stake for the Tipperary minor hurlers when they play on the road for the first time in the championship when they travel to Limerick this Thursday evening.
Off the back of good home wins over Clare and Cork, Tipp are the only team with a perfect record so far with their four other rivals all having one win each.
They face a Limerick side who responded well from an opening round home defeat to Waterford by recording a good six point win away to Clare in round 2, a Banner side who pushed Tipp to the pin of their collar.
With the top two teams progressing to the Munster final and the third and fourth placed teams going into the All-Ireland Series, Tipp aren’t quite assured of progressing in the top four despite their winning start and strong score difference with one more point needed to secure passage to the next stage while two points would likely be enough for a Munster final berth.
