Massive drugs' seizure in Mid-West

Gardaí attached to the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit conducted a search at a residence in Annacotty, Co. Limerick this Wednesday, April 29, as part of ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of drugs in the region.

During the searches Gardaí recovered suspected cannabis to the estimated street value of €470,000, suspected cocaine to the estimated street value of €140,000 and prescription tablets valued at over €33,000. Gardaí also seized a quantity of cash and other drug paraphernalia.

A male in his 30s has been arrested and conveyed to a Garda Station in Co Limerick. He is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

All drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
