Go for the HyGo Borrisoleigh Mile

All roads lead to the village of Borrisoleigh next Monday evening where the local Track-Attack Club host the HyGo Borrisoleigh Mile road race.

The great work done by running stalwarts Gerard Ryan and Paddy Dolan will be recognised when the first male finisher will receive the Gerard Ryan Perpetual Trophy and the first female finisher will receive the Paddy Dolan Perpetual Trophy.

The race starts one mile out the Thurles road from the village square at 7.00pm and participating athletes will then make their way back to the finish line adjacent to the Bush & Briar coffee shop.

Entries will be taken in the Sports Complex in the GAA Grounds from 6.00 to 6:40pm. Participants must then make their way to the start line.

The entry fees are €15 for adults and €5 for Under 18s. The categories on the night are senior, Under 18s and Over 40s. The prizes for the senior race by both male and female are 1st - €200, 2nd - €100 and 3rd - €50. The prizes for the Under 18s and Over 40s are bespoke Track-Attack trophies.

Run it, jog it, walk it, all are welcome. There is a footpath the full length of the course for walkers.
