Nenagh school launches inaugural golf classic
CBS Primary School is calling on the local community to support a special fundraising event this spring as it prepares to host its inaugural golf classic on Friday, May 8, at Nenagh Golf Club.
The event, proudly sponsored by The School Food Company, aims to raise vital funds to support the school’s two autism classes and to contribute towards an exciting new development project — the construction of an astro pitch and ball wall, complete with floodlighting.
CBS Primary School currently provides dedicated autism classes for 12 pupils, offering a supportive and inclusive learning environment tailored to their needs. Funds raised through the golf classic will help enhance the resources and supports available to these pupils, ensuring they continue to thrive both academically and socially.
In addition, the school has embarked on an ambitious project to develop a new astro pitch and ball wall facility on its grounds. Once completed, the facility will provide a safe, all-weather playing space for pupils, while also serving as a valuable recreational resource for the wider local community.
The golf classic promises to be an enjoyable day of sport, community spirit, and fundraising. Teams, sponsors, and donations are warmly welcomed as the school hopes the event will become a highlight in the local calendar for years to come.
There will be terrific prizes on offer on the day, including dedicated men’s and ladies’ prizes, on what promises to be a fantastic day of golf. All participating teams will also be treated to a complimentary burger at the 11th tee!
Organisers are encouraging local businesses, community groups, and golf enthusiasts to get involved by entering a team or supporting the event through sponsorship.
A team of four can enter the golf classic for €160, while tee box sponsorship is available for €50. Supporters also have the option to sponsor a tee box and enter a team for €200, offering a great opportunity for businesses and individuals to support the school, while promoting their organisation on the course.
All proceeds from the day will go directly towards supporting the 12 pupils in the school’s autism classes and helping bring the new astro pitch project to life.
