Lough Derg and the Men from the Land of the Lakes
Kilbarron Terryglass Historical Society host Caimin O'Brien, Archaeologist with the National Monuments Service, for their April talk.
Terryglass, like Lorrha, Clonmacnoise, Clonfert and many more settlements along the River Shannon, did not escape the raids on their monasteries in the 8th/10th century.
On Friday, April 10, in Terryglass Hall – E45 FC42 – Caimin O'Brien will give an illustrated talk about the archaeology of Lough Derg and its connections with the people of Scandinavia. The talk starts at 8pm. Admission: €5.
