Strengthening European links
Tipperary FET College Templemore recently welcomed two teachers, Maria and Cristina, from IES Luis Buñuel, Madrid, as part of its ongoing Internationalisation Strategy under the Erasmus+ programme.
During their visit, the teachers participated in job shadowing within the college’s Beauty Therapy and Complementary Therapy departments, providing an opportunity for professional exchange and collaboration between both institutions. Staff at Templemore also gained valuable insight into the Spanish aesthetics education system and approaches to vocational training.
A particular highlight of the visit was a practical lymphatic massage demonstration delivered by the visiting teachers for students, which enhanced the learning experience and introduced learners to international professional techniques.
The visit reflects the important role of Erasmus+ in supporting continuing professional development for teachers, encouraging the sharing of best practice, strengthening international partnerships, and broadening educational perspectives for both staff and learners.
Tipperary FET College - Templemore looks forward to developing this partnership further and hopes to facilitate a return visit by teaching staff to IES Luis Buñuel in the future.
