Since the launch of the Bruckana Wind Farm Community Gain Scheme in 2014, nearly €630,000 has been committed to local community groups.

March 20 deadline for wind farm grant scheme

BnM wishes to remind local community organisations that the deadline for applications to the 2026 Bruckana Wind Farm Community Gain Scheme for communities neighbouring the wind farm is today, Friday, March 20, at 5pm.

This year, the scheme will distribute just over €52,000 to community and voluntary groups, non-profit organisations, clubs, societies and charities working to deliver positive social, environmental or community services in the vicinity of the wind farm.

BnM’s CSR Manager Alison Tilley said: “The development of renewable energy infrastructure like Bruckana Wind Farm is what enables Community Benefit Funds such as this one. BnM is committed not only to generating clean energy, but also to ensuring that local communities benefit from the development of renewable energy infrastructure projects in their area, which are needed to ensure Ireland’s energy security. We are looking forward to working closely with neighbouring communities on projects that deliver real and lasting benefits. We encourage anyone with project ideas to reach out and apply before the deadline on March 20."

BnM administers the Scheme with the support of a Fund Awards Committee drawn from the local communities of Crosspatrick and Moyne/Templetuohy, who review all applications and make decisions on funding allocations.

Since the launch of the Bruckana Wind Farm Community Gain Scheme in 2014, nearly €630,000 has been committed to local community groups and near neighbour schemes. This funding has supported schools, sports clubs, community facilities, social initiatives and a wide range of local amenities.
