Death of Michael Kennedy

The death took place in Dalkey, Dublin, this month of Michael Kennedy, formerly of Main Street, Templemore. Michael was a brother to Dinny on Marian Road. He left for Dublin in the 1950s and spent the rest of his life in the capital mainly working for Dublin Corporation.

But he never forgot his roots and was always a proud Templemore man and remained great friends with Sean Grey and Mort Gleeson. He played football with Templemore before heading to Dublin, hurled with Dalkey Mitchells and played rugby with Lansdowne. He also played a significant role in the setting up of Dalkey Credit Union and was a very popular figure in the village.

Michael is survived by his brother Dinny (Marian Road) and Peggy (Fishmoyne) May his gentle soul rest in peace.
