Padel tennis plan for Nenagh

Tipperary Co Council has received a planning application for three portable padel tennis courts in Nenagh.

Padel Sports 100 Limited is seeking to install the three modular courts, complete with artificial grass surface, at Stereame. Four-metre-high fencing around sections of the padel courts perimeter and 6m high integrated LED lighting is included in the plan, along with all other ancillary site works.

Padel tennis involves rackets that are solid (without strings). The courts planned for Nenagh are to measure 20m by 10m and are designed as a “fully portable non-intrusive installation”, which, the applicant submitted, can be “fully dismantled and relocated at any time, leaving no trace or alteration to the underlying surface”.

A decision from the council is due by February 10.
