Ashling Murphy scholarship for Templemore’s Muireann

Muireann Meade from Castleiney, a First Year Bachelor of Education student in the Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, has been awarded the Ashling Murphy Memorial Scholarship for 2025.

This scholarship is in memory of Ashling Murphy, tragically killed in January 2022. It is jointly awarded by Mary Immaculate College and the Irish National Teachers Organisation (INTO) to a First Year Bachelor of Education student for their exceptional achievement and talent in the field of traditional Irish music.

Muireann is a multi-instrumentalist who has won many awards, including numerous All-Ireland titles on the uilleann pipes.
