Darts hit target for mental help group in Nenagh
THE Marie Daly Perpetual Darts Tournament took place in Figgerty’s pub in Summerhill, Nenagh, recently.
This annual event is a charity fundraiser which has grown from strength to strength over the last number of years.
This year the event organisers decided to donate all proceeds to the local charity and mental health organisation, C-SAW.
A total of €1,085 was raised on the night from the event and raffle. The event was very well supported by local businesses who donated spot prizes. There was also great support from participants who took great enjoyment playing on the night.
The Marie Daly Perpetual Darts Tournament committee would like to extend a massive thank you to the following businesses and individuals who sponsored prizes for the event: D-Palace Bar, the 44 Bar, Philip Talbot, Figgerty’s, Paddy Power, The Silvermine Bar, Up-Eats, Philly Ryan’s, Tadgh O’ Flynn, Jennifer Shoer, Paudie Shanahan, Sam Creamer, Thomas Morgan, Kevin Hassett, and Caitriona Morris.
The organisers would like to congratulate Stephen Rosney, who was the winner of the Marie Daly Cup (A section) and Jack McKenna, who won the Michael Slick Shoer Cup (B Section).
Eavan Carmody Delaney, Vice Chairperson for C-SAW Nenagh branch, said: “We are extremely appreciative of the massive support from the Marie Daly Perpetual Darts Tournament committee for choosing C-SAW as this year’s chosen charity. The money donated will go directly towards C-SAW Nenagh to maintain the current services and to help us expand services for the future.
“Anyone of us could find ourselves in a personal crisis and might need to avail of the services that C-SAW provides - which includes free counselling. We are delighted to have been able to bring C-SAW to Nenagh 12 months ago. The organisation has been blown away by the level of support from the people of Nenagh and community.
“On behalf of C-SAW we would like to thank everyone that was involved in this fundraising event and indeed all the fundraising events that have taken place for C-SAW in Nenagh and surrounding areas. It is very much appreciated and has secured the services that C-SAW will provide well into the future.”
