Thefts from cars in Nenagh
Gardaí are investigating a number of thefts from cars that have been reported in Nenagh in recent days.
One of these involved the theft of a bank card from a car in the Coille Bheithe estate. The card was then used in various shops in the town. Gardaí are examining CCTV footage as part of their inquiry into this matter.
Another car was broken into in the Ard Cruidín estate last week and a number of items were stolen. Gardaí are appealing to motorists to ensure that their vehicles are properly secured and to not leave valuable items in them.
Farmers are also being urged to exercise vigilance following a theft of agricultural equipment at Hogan’s Pass outside Nenagh between Friday and Saturday last. There was also a theft of a quantity of diesel from a tank in a yard in the Cloughjordan area on Saturday.
Elsewhere, gardaí arrested a male suspect at the scene of an aggravated burglary reported in Ballina in the early hours of Sunday morning. The suspect was taken to Nenagh Garda Station where he was charged. He appeared before court in Thurles on Monday and was released on bail with strict conditions.
