Ollie Naughton was at Clarisford last Saturday for the remarkable 250th time as a parkrun volunteer.

Milestone achievement at Killaloe parkrun

On Saturday last, the 45 participants and 10 volunteers enjoyed a very unique milestone celebration in Clarisford Park. The lifeblood and long-term success of Clarisford parkrun is built upon a foundation of dedicated regulars, walkers, runners and volunteers alike, who turn up Saturday after Saturday to enjoy each other’s company, and the tranquil break from busy working lives.

Eight of these staunch participants have, over the last year or so, reached the impressive milestone of 250 parkruns, the bulk of them done here in Clarisford. Up to September 20, no one has ever managed to volunteer on 250 occasions at a parkrun here in Killaloe, or at any parkrun in the neighbouring areas. Well done to our eight loyal volunteers!

The first three male/female athletes over the finish line were Eamonn O’Sullivan (20:31), Luke Earnshaw (20:52), Nigel Coleman (22:22), Monika Tupa (22:34, and fourth overall), Sorcha Clark (25:58), and Catherine Barry (27:13). Saturday’s volunteers were Siobhán Coleman, Antoinette Hall, Rita Kelly, Ian Madigan, Clare Minogue, James Naughton, Marianne Naughton, Oliver Naughton, Monika Tupa, and Pat Whelan.
