Scottish success for Borrisokane Athletes

Borrisokane Athletic Club were represented by two athletes on the Irish team selected to compete at the Scottish National Track & Field Championships last weekend.

In the Under 17 Hammer, Jack Tierney’s biggest opposition was the other Irish athlete but he had a powerful competition and with a super throw of 52.15m and came away with gold to become the Scottish National champion.

Also in the Hammer, Emily Stapleton was in a very strong field of seventeen athletes and went close to get a medal, finishing in fifth place, this was a great achievement and a fantastic experience for Emily who has been going from strength to strength this year.
