Player of the match Caoimhe McCarthy pointed to the Tipperary supporters for helping inspire their recovery in Sunday’s All-Ireland quarter final against Kilkenny.
Trailing 0-10 to 0-8 after very much playing second fiddle in the opening half, Tipp had to up the intensity in the second half said the all-action wingback.
“We probably knew we hadn’t played to our full potential at half time, we knew there was lots more in us,” she said.
“The Tipp crowd behind us and hearing that Tipp…Tipp….Tipp…., that is what got us over the line in the end.”
She added: “Relieved to be honest.
“We knew Kilkenny were going to be serious opposition, they stayed coming at us until the end but just delighted to dig it out in the end and get through to the semi-finals."
