Exhibition and printmaking workshop

Cloughjordan’s Thomas Mac Donagh Museum is delighted to host an exhibition of 32 contemporary prints by Irish artists, which is on loan from Tipperary County Council. The exhibition includes a fascinating collection of works by well-known Irish printmakers including Alice Hanratty, Des Mac Mahon and David Lilburn as well as prints by Tipperary artists Carol Kennedy and Suzannah O’Reilly.

The print exhibition will be on display in the Thomas Mac Donagh Museum from July 4-31.

To coincide with the exhibition, a printmaking workshop will be offered free of charge to adults (and young people aged over 16) in the Thomas Mac Donagh Museum on Tuesday, July 8, at 11am. In a 90-minute session, Suzannah O’ Reilly will introduce participants to dry point printmaking with chine collé and mono print. Participants at the workshop will scratch an image onto an acetate (which will be made available in advance of the workshop) and create their own individual artworks.

Suzannah is a practising artist, printmaker based in Limerick and Tipperary. She studied Printmaking in the Limerick School of Art & Design (LSAD) and later completed a Masters by research at the Crawford College of Art in 2004. In 2015, she co- founded Parallel Editions, a Fine Art Publishing house in Limerick. A working member of the Limerick Printmakers since 1999, she has served as a board member of the group too. A full-time lecturer at Limerick School of Art and Design at the Technical University of the Shannon (TUS), Suzannah regularly teaches various printmaking techniques in the Limerick Printmakers. The exhibition and workshop are supported by the Arts Office of Tipperary County Council.
