Kelly’s of Fantane Intermediate Hurling Championship
The semi-finals of the North Intermediate Hurling Championship took place last Sunday in MacDonagh Park, Nenagh.
Shannon Rovers put in an impressive performance, defeating their fellow Shannonsiders Portroe 1-19 to 0-16. See match report.
In the second game, Borrisokane put in another impressive performance, defeating Newport 4-20 to 1-19.
The final will be a Lower Ormond derby between Shannon Rovers and Borrisokane and is fixed to take place on Saturday, 12th July at 7.00pm in Cloughjordan.
The Watch Centre Junior 'A' Hurling Championship
Two games in Round 2 took place on Friday.
Kiladangan defeated Kilruane MacDonaghs 2-22 to 3-12 in Nenagh.
Kilruane made a strong start to the game and were ahead by nine points after the first ten minutes 2-6 to 0-3 with Jack Mulcahy and Michael Cleary the goal-scorers. However, Kiladangan improved thereafter and had the Kilruane lead reduced to three by half time - 0-12 to 2-9.
A long range Ruari Gleeson goal early in the second half gave Kiladangan the lead for the first time in the game. A well finished Shane Gleeson goal in the 47th minute as well as a number of long range scores from Kiladangan helped to extend their lead to ten. Michael Cleary scored a consolation goal for Kilruane in injury time as Kiladangan secured the two points.
The second game between Roscrea and Ballinahinch was a close affair as the sides could not be separated with the game finishing level - 0-16 to 2-10. The scores were also level at half time 0-9 to 1-6.
The third game in the round between Toomevara and Borris Ileigh was postponed and will take place at a later date.
Round 3will take place this Friday, 4th July at 7.15pm - Kiladangan face Ballinahinch in Nenagh and Toomevara will host Kilruane MacDonaghs in Toomevara.
Junior 'B' Hurling League
Congratulations to Moneygall who claimed the North Junior 'B' Hurling League title last Saturday evening in Ballinderry after a 3-12 to 2-11 victory over Lorrha. See match report.
The Watch Centre Junior 'B' Hurling Championship
will commence this weekend with action in Group 2 & 3 - Group 1 will commence on Saturday, 12th July.
Templederry Kenyons will host Roscrea this Friday at 7.15pm whilst the second Group 2 game takes place on Saturday at 7.00pm with Toomevara hosting Lorrha - Roscrea will have a bye in round 1.
In Group 3 this Saturday at 7.00pm - league champions Moneygall host Kiladangan while on Monday, Portroe will host near neighbours Burgess - Borrisokane will have a bye in round 1.
Ger Gavin Furniture Under 19 'B' Football Championship
will commence this Wednesday, 2nd July with three quarter finals throwing in at 7.15pm - Moneygall will be the venue for the clash of Moneygall/Clonakenny v Roscrea, Portroe will host Borrisokane whilst Puckane hosts Kiladangan v Nenagh Eire Og. Burgess await the victors in the semi-finals as they received a bye.
The 'A' semi-final between Ballina and Kilruane MacDonaghs will take place on Wednesday, 9th July.
