Water-inspired art exhibition
Event hosted by Nenagh Arts Centre
Deirdre Ní Fhaoilleacháin’s ‘Oceans of Emotions’ exhibition will launch in the Nenagh Arts Centre on July 4, at 6pm.
Sarah Fogarty, President of the County Tipperary Chamber of Commerce, will officially launch the exhibition. The collection of paintings is inspired by Deirdre’s connection to water and will be available for visitors to view for free for the month of July.
Originally from Australia, now living by Lough Derg, Ní Fhaoilleacháin’s unique style of painting has evolved from a lifetime of play and experimentation.
The scenic artworks feature lakes, seas, and other landscapes captured through Ní Fhaoilleacháin’s incredibly creative lens. Her paintings use abstract forms, textures and a colourful palette to evoke deep emotion.
As the collection is deeply personal, Ní Fhaoilleacháin invites you to not just view, but to feel, to lose yourself in a sea of colour, motion and meaning.
Occasionally Deirdre reaches dry land, in the form of a landscape, but the emotional ebb and flow of the water is never far away.
Ní Fhaoilleacháin will also be holding a ‘Meet the Artist’ opportunity in the Arts Centre on Wednesday July 9, from 11am to 2pm. This event will allow admirers to discuss these beautiful paintings directly with the artist, who will share personal stories and in-depth thoughts about the creation of this exhibition.
Painting in acrylics and oils she finds freedom of expression in conveying feelings and emotions in her work. With the use of vibrant colours and gestural mark-making, she creates a visual language that is both emotive and visceral.
