Shannon Rovers were crowned County Junior ‘C’ Camogie League champions on Sunday after overcoming Burgess/Duharra in the final at MacDonagh Park, Cloughjordan.
The victors held a commanding 3-4 to 0-3 lead at half-time, with two goals from Emma Darcy, and a third from Sarah Flannery just before the break.
Burgess/Duharra emerged a different team in the second half holding the opposition to just three points while raising two green flags of their own. But it was Shannon Rovers who were celebrating at the final whistle as they secured a five point victory.
It was a brilliant team display by Shannon Rovers who had eight players involved in Saturday's extra time defeat to Annacarty in the Senior Shield final, including Kelly Watson and Julie Brennan who were outstanding for the winners on Sunday.
Others to impress were Clodagh Cahalan and Emma Darcy who finished with an impressive tally of 2-3.
