Funds for Nenagh Childcare Centre

Tipp TDs have welcomed the announcement that €492,595 is to be provided for Nenagh Childcare Centre to provide for extension to facilitate more children.

Deputy Alan Kelly said: “This is great news for a fantastic facility who provide for well in excess of 100 children with approximately 25 employees.

“Last year this facility had some financial difficulties and following an approach by the Chairperson of the Board I arranged meetings with the Department of Children in Leinster House and the financial issues were overcome through a number of changes and interventions.

“The facility already had planning for their extension that the department had indicated would be looked favourable on once planning was in place.

“Well done to the staff and management of Nenagh Childcare and may it go from strength to strength.”

Also welcoming the announcement were Ryan O’Meara TD and Michael Lowry TD.

Deputy O’Meara said: “This is a fantastic boost for Nenagh and surrounding communities.

The Nenagh Childcare Centre has been doing exceptional work for years, and this investment will allow them to expand their services to meet increasing demand from local families.

“I want to acknowledge Minister Norma Foley’s commitment to strengthening early years services through the Building Blocks Extension Grant Scheme. This is exactly the kind of forward-thinking investment we need to ensure families have access to modern, high-quality childcare in their own communities.”

The Building Blocks Extension Grant Scheme is designed to support the expansion and enhancement of early learning and childcare infrastructure across the country, ensuring services can respond to the needs of growing populations and provide inclusive, accessible care.
