Second burst water pipe in Tipp townland
Uisce Éireann is working to restore normal water supply to homes and businesses supplied by the Galtee Regional Water Supply Scheme following a second burst pipe on the scheme last night.
Areas impacted include Lisnagaul, Lisvernane, Bansha, Aherlow, Breanshmore, Mount Bruis, Kilross, Shronell, Ardlomen, Lattin, Glenbane, Limerick Junction, Emly, Ballycurrane, Clonpet and surrounding areas
Water services crews are working to repair the burst and restore supply as soon as possible. As this is a complex repair, it is expected that supply will take several hours to return and some areas may not see normal supply coming back until Monday.
Alternative water supplies are in place to support customers in Emly village, Limerick Junction and Lattin village in the meantime.
Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Pierce Faherty, Operations Lead at Uisce Éireann, stated: "We understand the inconvenience caused by a significant outage like this. This is the second major burst on this scheme in recent days. Crews are on the ground working to repair it as quickly as possible and restore normal supply. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this time."
