Munster Junior Cup

Nenagh AFC 1-2 Aisling Annacotty

Nenagh AFC crashed out of the Munster Junior Cup on Saturday when they fell 2-1 at home to 2020 champions, Aisling Annacotty, in a game that saw three players red carded, two from the home side.

Aisling were made earn their passage to round four. They took the lead on the half hour mark when Tom Kidd scored from close range.

Adam Foley doubled the lead after the restart and the visitors looked on their way.

A late goal from a long-range free kick by Ryan Gilmartin gave Nenagh some hope but it proved too late to allow a comeback.

Nenagh AFC: Aaron Savage; Saeed Ryan; Lee Mowatt; Colm Hayden; Kieran Barr; Conor McCormack; Kieran O'Brien; Alan Sheehan; Aidan White; Ryan Gilmartin; Matt O'Gorman.

Newport Town 4-2 Aisling Annacotty ‘B’

Newport Town had better luck in their Munster Junior Cup tie and a 4-2 win over Aisling Annacotty’s ‘B’ team sees them represent the LDL in the latter stages of the competition.

Elliot Slattery fired Newport in front from Daniel Ryuan’s corner kick and Christy Doyle doubled the lead when he picked up Darren Collins through ball.

Aisling battled back and a goal either side of the half time break brought them back level. A foul on Chrity Doyle presented Darren Collins with a penalty kick which he converted in style and with time running out substitute Jay Ryan sealed the win for the home side.
