Fifth Nenagh gig in memory of Gerry

Proceeds going to Milford Hospice

A fifth staging of the successful music showcase in memory of local man Gerry McNamara will take place at the Well Bar this Saturday night.

Musician Gerry died in 2016 at the age of just 39, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a gifted drummer, who played with a number of local bands, and also co-founded ‘Nightmare Promotions’ with his close friend and fellow musician Phil Brett with the aim of promoting live music gigs in Nenagh.

Phil has continued that legacy by organising a gig on the anniversary of Gerry's death and bringing some great metal and hard rock bands to Nenagh. This year's show will feature Belfast band The Crawling, a big name of the Irish metal music scene following their widespread tours across the UK in support of their latest release, ‘All of this for Nothing’.

Also journeying to Nenagh will be Partholon from Cork, a great live act that will be performing new material from their eagerly-awaited second album.

This gig will also be an opportunity to see new Nenagh Foo Fighters tribute band, Foo's Gold. Featuring Gerry's long-time great friend Edwin Morgan, the local band have plenty of experience between them and are sure to put on a great show.

Catch them all at The Well this Saturday, October 14, with admission (€5) from 8.30pm. Proceeds from the gig will be donated to Milford Hospice, which treated Gerry and his family so well during his final days. Further information is available on the Nightmare Promotions Facebook page.
