Nenagh’s O’Keeffe regains Nenagh Open Tennis title

There were many great performances at the Nenagh Open Tennis Championships which concluded on Saturday, including that of Frank O’Keeffe who won the Premier/Grade 1 singles, a title he last won in 2019.

In other grades, visitors Joanne Fitzpatrick (Killaloe-Ballina), Ruth Ryan (Lakewood), Gerry Quinn (Limerick LTC) and Cathal Hanrahan (Puckane) each notably won two titles.

The tournament attracted the biggest entry in its history, with entries from clubs near and far and a glance at the finals’ line-up gives a good indication of the number of clubs represented.

Following the finals, Nenagh LTC President, Michael Gilmartin sincerely thanked Bowe Dental and AIB Nenagh for their generous and much appreciated sponsorship of the tournament.

Michael also complimented joint tournament directors Richelle Treacy and Matty Ryan who did a simply wonderful job throughout. Both Richelle and Matthew also spoke, thanking the sponsors, the players, their back-up support and Puckane for the use of its courts when heavy rain interrupted proceedings on Thursday.
