Art in the open air at Birdhill Pollagh Trail
A big day in the life of artists young and old in the Birdhill area takes place when the Birdhill Art Hub in association with the Tidy Village group opens the annual Art Pollagh Trail in the village on this Saturday, July 15.
The highly popular event, open and free to the public, will run until September 1.
This unique outdoor event features original works and stretches over the 2.4km scenic Pollagh Trail in Birdhill, which straddles the banks of the River Shannon.
This exhibition, hosted by Birdhill Art Hub and Birdhill Tidy Village, will be a fun, free and distinctive art trail for everyone to enjoy across all ages.
Our theme this year is ‘Stay Wild’ with artists both professional, emerging and young, joining us to present their original works along the trail, painted on pine boarding using acrylic water-based paints.
You will see fabulous works in splashes of vibrant colours along this spectacular Pollagh Trail in Birdhill. It is a flat easy walking trail, perfect in all types of weather.
This project is aimed at bringing individuals, groups, local community enterprises and the public together to experience this unique event in the great outdoors and is open to everyone.
This amazing experience was created by Melissa Ryan and supported by the local farmers in Birdhill who gave access for this unique event to take place each year.
Birdhill Art Hub would like to thank all the landowners for giving access to the Pollagh Trail and to Birdhill Tidy Village for maintaining the trail and our beautiful village. Thanks also for funding support from Tipperary County Council and Creative Ireland.
