Easter parkrun in Borrisokane
Easter Saturday was another successful parkrun in Borrisokane, as we welcomed visitors from Scotland and Kent. One runner, Valerie Webb, originally from Thurles but living in Scotland, was passing through on her way home from New Zealand, deciding to pop in for a quick parkrun.
We welcomed Pete Scolls and Annicea Madine from Edinburgh, who even volunteered beforehand to help with the event setup. Parkrun truly is an amazing global community.
Vincent Crowley from Kent, a regular at Tunbridge Wells parkrun, was visiting his sister Theresa, and encouraged her to partake in their first ever parkrun. Well done, Theresa.
Five participants were first-time visitors to Borrisokane Town parkrun and five others set new personal bests, so a very successful event all round.
Huge congratulations to Anthony Cleary from Cloughjordan on completing his 50th parkrun, 28 of them at Borrisokane Town parkrun. Well-earned red t-shirt, Anthony.
Everyone at parkrun thanks Geraldine Sullivan for bringing chocolate treats for the finish line, making it a very Happy Easter parkrun.
If you would like to get involved, walk, jog or run 5kms, or even join in the fun, go to www.parkrun.ie where you can find details of all events. Otherwise, simply turn up on a Saturday morning for 9.30am (give it a few minutes extra if you are new) and make yourself known to the volunteers.
