Tipp's Roz to feature on new 2FM line-up

RTÉ 2FM has announced its new weekend schedule, with a whole host of new faces, bringing a fresh feel to the weekends beginning this evening (Friday 24 February).

Following Game On, and The National Chart Show with Bláthnaid Treacy (7pm-9pm), Friday night’s at 2FM are rap and hip-hop nights, with DJ Mo-K (9pm-11pm), and DJ Wax (11pm – 1am).

Kicking off the mornings on Saturdays and Sundays will be 2FM Breakfast with Bláthnaid Treacy (7am -9am) where Bláthnaid will serve up a breakfast bowl full of energy, superb listener prizes, and great tunes.

Whether it’s an up and at’em day or a day of rest, listeners will have Laura Fox on their side on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to midday with three hours of great music, fun chat, and celebrity interviews.

Roz and Emma on 2FM is where you need to be at weekends! From 12-3pm, Roz Purcell and Emma Power will keep listeners entertained with tunes, chat and giveaways. Listeners can win a brunch for four people, but you have to be a pure chancer to do it! Listeners can guess if their celebrity guest is spoofing or telling the truth, and get a warm hug when Roz and Emma tell you what stories gave them all the feels that week.

Presenter Aifric O’Connell will take the helm from 3pm – 6pm on both Saturdays and Sundays, with 3 hours of throwbacks, archive and craic.

Saturday night is Dance Night on 2FM and Jenny Greene takes to the decks on The Electric Disco at the earlier time of 6pm until 8, belting out tracks to get listeners ready for heading out on the town, or a lively night at home.

There’s a brand-new dance music show with Dave Treacy, delivering a mix of the best in new commercial and club dance music, chats with the biggest DJs & producers from all parts of the world, and The Club Culture Guest Mix (8-10pm). Dave Treacy will be followed by The Spring Sessions from 10pm through to Midnight, going into Late Night Sessions from 1am.

On Sundays at 6pm, The Request Show with Conor Behan promises to let listeners take charge, handing the playlist over to those tuning in to get in touch and request their favourites.

Beta Da Silva takes over from 8-10pm, Sunday through to Thursday, with The New Music Show, inviting listeners to lock in, chill, and discover all the latest in the music world, with new tunes, new projects, gig news, album breakdowns, and a selection of music across all genres.

Beta will be followed by chilled sessions with The Greene Room (10pm – 12) with Jenny Greene. Right after Jenny at midnight, Cormac Battle - a friendly voice on the daily Jennifer Zamparelli show - rounds the weekend off with a blistering shot of Rock, Indie and Dance.

We are thrilled that Roz Purcell is joining the weekend team , broadcasting with Emma Power. 2FM will also have an exciting night-time schedule which is also being revamped with Jenny Greene, Dave Treacy, Conor Behan, Mo K , DJ Wax and Beta Da Silva. Now that we have bedded in our weekday schedule ,which would appear from the most recent listenership results to be going well, we are focusing on weekends."

Roz Purcell is a broadcaster, outdoors enthusiast and food creator. She is one of Ireland’s most influential online personalities, as well as the author of three books. Roz grew up on her parents’ farm in rural Tipperary. Those origins have formed the roots of her passions, food and the great outdoors, and Roz has grown into one of Ireland’s leading voices on food, great outdoors and the benefits of a life lived in harmony with the natural world. She was joined on that show by Carl Mullan in 2019 and they presented together until 2021. During that time, Aifric also worked as a researcher on The Dave Fanning Show. She moved to the evening slot in late 2021, and is a contributor on various shows and including with The 2 Johnnies midweek.

Jenny Greene has been at the forefront of the Irish Dance music scene for almost 20 years.Starting out at the age of 17 as a dance music columnist, radio presenter and DJ. At the age of 21 she earned herself a spot in the Guinness Book Of Records breaking the record for the Worlds Longest DJ set. Along with presenting The Jenny Greene Show on 2FM, her Saturday night dance show ‘Electric Disco’ on RTÉ 2FM has been a mainstay for Irish Clubbers for the past 12 years, leading to an album release back in 2009.

Jenny regularly performs to sell out crowds at both arenas and festivals with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

Conor Behan is a DJ, broadcaster and writer based in Dublin. He has covered slots across the 2FM schedule since 201, and has been a contributor on shows on 2FM and RTÉ Radio 1. As a DJ, Conor has played 3Arena, Electric Picnic, Mother Block Party and is a resident at The George, one of Ireland’s most recognisable venues. He is host and producer of the podcast Housewives and Me, Ireland’s only podcast about The Real Housewives and was co-host of Virgin Media’s podcast Popsessed. He’s written for outlets like the Irish Independent, GCN, and The Journal and has interviewed names including Years and Years, Jade Thirlwall, Dua Lipa, and Jessie Ware.

Dave Treacy has built his dance music radio career over the last 10 years by becoming a tastemaker for current and future sounds in the genre. Whilst travelling the world to attend major dance music events and interview the scene’s top DJs & producers, Dave continues to create engaging content and real life experience for his listeners. Working with radio stations such as RTE Pulse, RTE 2FM & BBC Radio 1 has allowed Dave to reach national and international audiences and become a staple in the global Dance music scene.

Beta Da Silva is a radio presenter, voice-over artist, station voice, and broadcaster. Born in Angola, he moved to Dublin when he was 4 years old. His passion for radio began when involved with his college radio station BCFE in 2015, and local community radio at Liffey Sound FM. In 2017, Beta moved to RTÉ Pulse, followed in 2021 moving to Weekend Breakfast on 2FM, and on to covering the New Music Show. Beta’s life is surrounded by music of all genres, and he’s always striving to discover more.
