Join Sanctuary Runners at Borrisokane parkrun this Saturday

Sanctuary Runners are calling on new members to join their running, jogging and walking group in Borrisokane this Saturday, 11th February.

Sanctuary Runners groups across Ireland bring together communities, extending an invitation to run, walk or jog regardless of nationality, legal status, gender or religion.

Sanctuary Runners are renowned for the positive welcome the group affords every new member and for the fun and craic to be had while getting out for some exercise.

Founder of Sanctuary Runners, Graham Clifford, plans to run at Borrisokane Town Parkrun on Saturday. As well as meeting regular park runners both Graham and the parkrun team are looking forward to welcoming new faces.

“We’ve always had great friends in Borrisokane, but with the pandemic hopefully behind us it’s time to build the blue wave back up again in Tipperary,” Clifford said.

Focusing on solidarity over charity the Sanctuary Runners already have groups in over thirty locations across Ireland and are expanding internationally.

These groups run at events together, from fun runs and walks, to 10ks and marathons, but often attend park runs around the country for their more regular activities.

Sanctuary Runners Ireland lead Ailís McSweeney, who will also be in attendance in Borrisokane added: “We’re very lucky to have such a strong and welcoming partner in parkrun around Ireland.

“Getting outside in the fresh air and exercising in a local amenity are both key to what we do.

“Being able to join in a bigger group doing that already brings an extra layer of community integration to Sanctuary Runners.

“Event Directors like Greg Starr in Borrisokane have been fantastic supporters and demonstrate the inclusive parkrun ethos.”

Sanctuary Runners is open to everyone in the community from all nationalities, different ages and abilities.
