Minor Hurlers Visit Tayto Park
Following their exploits on the playing fields during the year, the 2022 Munster & All Ireland Minor Hurling champions enjoyed a well-deserved day out in Tayto Park last Saturday, compliments of our sponsor Fiserv.
The team and management travelled by bus and spent the day at the park before travelling to An Poitín Stil where they enjoyed a meal, which was kindly sponsored by Louis Fitzgerald before travelling back home later that evening.
We express our gratitude to Fiserv and Louis Fitzgerald for their wonderful generosity which was really appreciated by all concerned.
GAA clubs asked to provide emergency short-term accommodation to ease humanitarian crisis
GAA clubs are being asked to provide emergency short term accommodation for people seeking humanitarian shelter in Ireland.
The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth and the Department of the Taoiseach have advised that the current stock of short-term emergency accommodation is depleted and that shelter is required for a significant number of people.
What is immediately sought are large indoor spaces, capable of taking 100 to 200 camp beds. These spaces will be needed on a very short-term basis, for approximately a week, and ideally would have access to toilets and showers.
State bodies will provide all the catering and other supports that will be needed. There will be no costs arising to GAA clubs that provide their facilities and all issues around liability and insurance will be managed by the State.
If only smaller spaces can be offered, please do so as ever little bit will help this humanitarian crisis.
Any GAA clubs or individuals who are in a position to help should contact communications@gaa.ie
